Jayomi, Seattle’s friendliest indie surf rock quartet, brings a fresh, nurturing, violin-fronted, punk energy to the underground music scene. Frontman Jon Wu started writing the band’s premiere album Wet Burrito in the basement of his brother’s coworking space in the beginning of 2019 – his goal being to compose a garage rock masterpiece by fusing the intricacy of classical interweaving countermelodies with the gritty, distorted guitar sounds prevalent in modern-day garage rock. Embracing core values of vulnerability, inclusivity, and freedom of self expression, Francisco Solis (guitar), Lizz Slabaugh (bass and vocals), and Casey Hudlow (drums) joined forces with Jon in May of 2019. Shortly after the band’s formation, Jayomi released music video accompanied singles Tropical Wasteland and Letter from Elise, attracting buzz from the online indie music community as well as local radio stations. The full Wet Burrito album is scheduled for release in Fall of 2019.
